Amy Comstock Rick, J.D., is the Director of Strategic Coalitions for the FDA’s Rare Disease Innovation Hub, where she coordinates cross-agency collaboration between the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER). She acts as the primary liaison for external stakeholders, helping to implement the Hub’s goals to advance innovation in rare disease treatment. Previous to FDA, she was a Principal Consultant at Leavitt Partners, focusing on health policy and rare disease medical product development. She also served as President and CEO of the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI), promoting open, balanced discussion in food and drug law. Earlier in her career, she led the Parkinson’s Action Network and was President of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research. She also held leadership roles on the boards of Research America, the National Health Council, and the American Brain Coalition. Ms. Rick’s federal service includes roles as a career attorney at the U.S. Department of Education and Senate-confirmed Director of the U.S. Office of Government Ethics. She was also Associate Counsel to the President from 1998 to 2000. She holds degrees from Bard College and the University of Michigan Law School.
