Alicia Walker Rowell

Vice President
AIM at Melanoma
Alicia Rowell, AIM at Melanoma’s vice president, is an accomplished non-profit professional, patient advocate, and programming lead who ensures the patient voice and input are central to all of the work that AIM does. Together with AIM’s president, Alicia formulates and leads the strategy for fulfilling AIM’s mission and for its future growth. She directs AIM’s global tissue bank initiative, the Melanoma Tissue Bank Consortium. She oversees the creation of all patient-facing content for AIM at Melanoma; this work includes the rewrite and redesign in 2020 of AIM at Melanoma’s massive website, and more recently, in 2023, the creation of AIM’s nonmelanoma website, AIM at Skin Cancer. She is responsible for representing AIM and the patient voice on a variety of coalitions, including the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention, where she is Skin Smart Campus Co-Chair; the American Society of Dermatopathology, where she is the Public Board Member; the Melanoma Academy through the U.S. Department of Defense funding, where is an Advisor (patient advocacy); and the Public Access to SunScreens (PASS) Coalition. Alicia also leads all development work for AIM, overseeing the fundraising that is so critical to AIM’s mission and growth.
