Alexey Konov, PhD, is a Managing Partner at Biovision Ventures, a specialized life sciences VC launched in 2023 and investing in early-stage therapeutics and medical software in the US and Europe, with four investments made to date and actively investing. Alexey is responsible for business development, deal origination, and investor relations, as well as deeply involved in evaluating investment opportunities and serving on the boards of portfolio companies, including board positions in Retrosense Therapeutics (board member 2015-2016, acquired by Allergan for USD 555M in 2016), Bonti (board member 2016-2018, acquired by Allergan for USD 295M in 2018), Contineum Therapeutics (board observer 2019-2024, IPO in 2024), Immusoft (board observer, 2019-current), and Ornovi Inc (board member, 2022-current). He has almost 20 years of experience in senior roles in biotech VC, pharma, and science, including work in France, Finland, Germany, and the USA. Alexey started his first venture fund in 2014, now fully invested with a few successful exits. Prior to that, Alexey worked at Monsanto Europe, where he supported a number of key company products’ regulatory filings in the CIS as Scientific Outreach Lead for the CIS region. Alexey received a PhD degree in molecular biology from Louis Pasteur University (France) in 1998, followed by a post-doctoral tenure in Finland.
