Alborz has spent nearly 10 years in the biopharma sector after being trained as a chemist at Yale University. He began his career consulting for large pharma at Boston Consulting Group's New York City office, then investing in biotech companies at Bain Capital Life Sciences in Boston, and then at Passaic Capital (an affiliate of Millennium Management) in New York City, prior to founding his first company Exavir Therapeutics. Exavir successfully developed the longest-acting antiviral ever discovered, a Q6M+ HIV integrase inhibitor XV-110 / VH310, through IND-enabling studies before out licensing the program to GSK / ViiV Healthcare, the pioneer in long-acting HIV therapeutics.
