Alborz founded Protomer Technologies in 2015 and Lilly acquired Protomer in 2021, as a wholly owned subsidiary accelerate clinical development. Today, Protomer’s glucose-sensing molecules are in clinical trials. As vice president of Lilly Research Labs and Head of the Diabetes Pillar for Eli Lilly, Mahdavi and his team are now using MEPS to fight or cure other critical diseases.
