Akwasi Asabere, PhD

Akwasi is a commercial leader with experience working in business development, strategic partnerships, and account management roles at organizations that partner with leading health systems and biopharma companies. At Yemaachi, he is focused on developing the engagement and product strategy with life science and biopharma partners. He also works at Helix Inc, where he is responsible for developing service line strategies with health systems that have implemented large scale population genomics programs. Prior to these roles, Akwasi worked as a Market Access consultant with GfK helping pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies develop payer reimbursement and commercial strategies. Akwasi trained as a research scientist studying functional variation using next generation sequencing technologies and genomic tools. He spent time as a visiting researcher in the Genetics Department at the Stanford University School of Medicine where he also pursued entrepreneurial and management courses at the Graduate School of Business. Akwasi obtained a B.A. (Honors) in Biology from Knox College and his Ph.D, and M.Sc from Yale University.
