Dr. Rau received his B.S. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Montana in 1997. He obtained clinical lab certification from University of North Dakota in 2001 and earned his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Montana in 2007. He was a post-doc in David Pulse's lab from 2007 to 2012 and served as an assistant research professor at the University of Montana from 2012 to 2017. Wintermute Biomedical was founded in 2012 by Dr. Rau and a colleague, Wes Hale. In 2017 Dr. Rau left the UM and became the CSO for WBI and in 2022 he was appointed CEO.
