Dr. Thomas Pierrot earned his PhD in Deep Reinforcement Learning from Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. Throughout his doctoral studies, Dr. Pierrot focused on enhancing exploration and sample efficiency in Deep RL and collaborated with Google DeepMind and Imperial College London, resulting in publications in top conferences of the field. Since completing his PhD, Dr. Pierrot's research interests have transitioned towards developing representation learning methods for biology. He specifically concentrates on foundation models for genomics and transcriptomics. Currently, Dr. Pierrot leads a team of 15 researchers spread across Paris and Boston at InstaDeep, recently acquired by BNT. Together, they aim to develop the next generation of bio foundation models to accelerate innovation in the field.
