Dr. marsh has a successful record of accomplishment, as evidenced by his extensive publication and patent history, in basic bioengineering research (Ph.D. in biomedical engineering) as well as translational experience (Postdoc in translational medicine) in transitioning research from the lab to industry. His work to date illustrates a broad skillset ranging from the operation and management of highly technical machines and projects, to finely tuned business acumen, as evidenced by his successful graduation of Tiny Cargo from a local incubator program (RAMP, with a $20,000 award), followed by induction into the competitive J&J JLABS incubator program, which also awarded Tiny Cargo $50,000 in non-dilutive funding. In 2022, he was awarded $216,000 from the NSF as an award for a Phase I STTR. He then received entry into the prestigious JLABS-BARDA Blue Knight program to advance our therapeutic as a medical countermeasure. In 2023, he led us to award of the VBHRC Catalyst grant, which awarded $350,000 in research funds. This was rapidly followed by a NCI SBIR Phase I SBIR award for $400,000. Indeed, Dr. Marsh has been awarded more than $1,000,000 in grant funding to date, and has also led Tiny Cargo to over $5m in investment funding.
