Silas Martin is the Head of Access & Policy Research for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. In his role, Silas leads a team that generates novel evidence and fosters external engagement with leading researchers, economists, and policy experts across the health system. Their goal is to support health policy positions focused on enabling patient access to transformational innovation now and in the future. The team recently launched the J&J Center for US Healthcare Policy Research to bring together their research, and to further engage with leaders in health policy. Silas has dedicated over 25 years of his career to improving patient lives with Johnson & Johnson in a variety of roles, publishing research in the areas of health economics, outcomes research, market access and healthcare policy. Pertinent to this panel, his team led a comprehensive modeling study showing the patient impact of the FDA accelerated approval program in oncology. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Evaluative Clinical Sciences from Dartmouth.
