Sherri spent close to three decades at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in several executive roles and the last 12 years she reported to the agency’s Director (or “CEO”). CDC is a U.S. federal agency with over 20,000 staff in more than 50 countries around the world and an annual budget of over $15B. As Chief Operating Officer overseeing the agency’s CFO, CIO and CHCO from 2011-2021 and as Chief of Staff from 2021-2023, Sherri filled pivotal operational and strategic leadership roles during major public health crises, including responses to Ebola, Zika, and COVID-19. She was well-recognized across executive levels of government for her ability to innovate and solve operational challenges. Sherri maintained leadership continuity under several presidential transitions, large-scale disease outbreaks, and significant operational challenges, including government shutdowns and mid to late year budget approvals. Sherri started her career at the CDC in 1996 as an epidemiologist and led the agency’s Congressional appropriations office for several years. Today, Sherri has her own consulting firm and serves as a senior advisor to BCG. Sherri brings deep expertise in strategy, operations, government, and public health.
