Robert Tragas, MSc, Executive Director of Laboratory Operations, is a business and technical leader with 25 years of experience in the (bio-)pharmaceutical industry at Alcami after a short tenure in academia. He has progressive experience in analytical development and testing of raw materials, drug substances and drug products from pre-clinical to commercial stages. He has received increasing responsibilities for the development of new laboratories, the on-boarding of new analytical capabilities, the improvement of processes, and the establishment of high-growth, quality-oriented, flexible, client-centric teams in support of formulation development, manufacturing and QC operations. His experience serving clients in the CDMO space has provided great perspective of the drug development industry. He leverages this perspective in leading laboratory operations attuned to client needs from virtual or small to large (bio-)pharma companies. He is currently responsible for laboratory operations at Alcami’s RTP, NC campus and oversees the expansion of analytical capabilities supporting small molecules and biologicals, including therapeutic proteins, nucleic acids, and advanced modalities such as Cell and Gene Therapies. He earned his MSc in Analytical Chemistry from University of Waterloo, CA.
