Robert is one of a very small number of intellectual property professionals working at a European IP firm who has a law degree from the United States and is qualified to practice before both the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office. In addition, in 2018 he passed the European Patent Litigation Certificate Exam which makes him eligible to participate in litigation proceedings before the new European Unified Patent Court. Prior to moving to Europe over 12 years ago, he worked in New York as an intellectual property attorney for 14 years, including over 10 years at an AmLaw 100 law firm. Given his experience with both United States and European IP law, he frequently write and speak on a variety of topics, including more recently the importance of the new European patent system on global IP strategies.
