Margaret K. Offermann, MD, PhD is President and CEO of OncoSpherix, a pre-clinical stage cancer drug development company striving to improve quality of life and survival of patients with many forms of advanced cancers. Her past roles include serving as Professor of Hematology and Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, Deputy National Vice President of Research at the American Cancer Society, and Managing Partner at Salutramed Group. Dr. Offermann has published research on topics that include Kaposi's sarcoma, innate immunity, endothelial biology and targeted therapies, which have been widely cited in biomedical literature. Her honors include serving as President of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology in 2013 and being elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 2014. Dr. Offermann is well known for her ability to integrate the science of tumor biology with clinical trial design, the practice of oncology and health policy issues. She is a frequent invited speaker for both professional and lay audiences. She trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals and in Medical Oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and in Medical Oncology.
