Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Louis-Philippe Bernier, PhD, is an expert in the subcellular to multicellular mechanisms of neuropathology with 17 years of experience in his field. Dr. Bernier’s research experience spans several areas including stroke, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration. His research has been published in high impact journals such as Nature Neuroscience, Nature Communications, Cell Reports and Journal of Neuroscience and was consistently funded through multiple grants and fellowships. He has held numerous awards, including the prestigious and highly competitive Banting Fellowship and the Henry J.M. Barnett Award for stroke research. Dr. Bernier received his BSc in Microbiology and Immunology/Pharmacology and completed his PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University. He also completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University.
