Dr. Jing Fan received her Ph.D in Neuroscience at UBC, and postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University. She has been elected as one of the ’30 Global Innovative talents of Chinese entrepreneurs’ in 2018, the 2022 Forbes list “TOP50 Women in Science and Technology in China”, the “Outstanding founder in biotechnology industry of 2022” BioCon Award, ASGCT Stem Cell Committee member etc. Dr. Jing Fan has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of CNS diseases, drug discovery, pluripotent stem cell and neural differentiation. She has published more than 18 academic papers and book chapters on top journals, led the Maryland Stem Cell Foundation project, and participated in major R&D projects such as NIH, Helis Foundation, etc. Since 2017, she has founded Hopstem in US and China, devoted in developing innovative iPSC-derived cell therapy products for global CNS disease patients. She has led the team to successfully gain IND approval of the company’s first product hNPC01 by NMPA and FDA. This global first-in-class iPSC neural regenerative cell product is finishing phase I clinical study targeting chronic ischemic stroke in June 2025. She has raised more than 70 million USD from top VCs for the program.
