Together we become stronger Before I started my own business, I thought my calling was to pass on my knowledge and expertise in chemistry to university students. However, after 20 years of experience as a researcher in the field of metabolic diseases, I realized that the quality of life of patients suffering from metabolic disorders had barely improved because effective drugs for disease as NASH or IBD had not yet been commercially available. Once diagnosed with these diseases, patients cannot receive proper medical help because of a lack of medicines. Therefore, I decided to establish JD Bioscience to develop and provide potent medicines for patients suffering from metabolic diseases. "Together we become stronger" Even though JD Bioscience started as a small faculty startup at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, we have strong collaborations with dedicated scientists from four renowned state-run research institutes in South Korea. Each member of the collaboration group contributes their expertise to develop first-in-class drug candidates that can improve the lives of patients with metabolic diseases.
