Jasdave Chahal, PhD
Co-Founder & Lead Scientist
Tiba Biotech, LLC
Dr. Jasdave S. Chahal is a molecular biologist and RNA vaccine innovator with extensive experience in developing next-generation RNA-based vaccines and therapeutics for infectious diseases. He holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University and conducted postdoctoral research at MIT’s Whitehead Institute and Koch Institute, where he pioneered the use of dendrimer-based nanoparticles to deliver synthetic mRNA and self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccines. His early work demonstrated rapid, single-dose protection against lethal challenges from H1N1 influenza, Ebola, and Toxoplasma gondii in animal models. As co-founder and CSO at Tiba Biotech, Dr. Chahal directs R&D efforts focused on RNA vaccine platforms and delivery systems. His team has secured multiple NIH and BARDA grants to develop mRNA and self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccines targeting a variety of human and animal pathogens. He leads projects that emphasize rapid-response nucleic acid drug design and dose-sparing strategies for vaccines and therapeutics. Outside of Tiba, he serves as a mentor for MIT's Venture Mentoring Service, advising students, postdocs, and faculty on building and fundraising for AI and biotech startups.
