Christopher Wild, PhD

Assistant Vice Chancellor and Vice President
San Jacinto College
Prior to becoming assistant vice chancellor/VP at San Jacinto College, Christopher (Chris) Wild served as a chemistry faculty member, physical science and engneering department chair, and dean over a 15-year span. As dean, Chris oversaw college division operations of 10 degree-granting programs in the health and natural sciences. Chris has an extensive publication record of peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and patents describing research in the fields of drug discovery for cancer and central nervous system disorders. He has held roles in the biopharma and chemical manufacturing industries. Presently, Chris leads the recently established biomanufacturing training program at the college’s South Campus and the purpose-built Center for Biotechnology at Generation Park while serving as the college representative for the National Institute of Bioprocessing, Research and Training (NIBRT) Global Partners Program - bringing world-class biomanufacturing training, that spans five continents, to the Houston region. He holds a B.A (biology) and M.S. (chemistry) from California State University, Northridge. Christopher has graduate coursework in education from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in pharmacology (focus: medicinal chemistry) from The University of Texas, Medical Branch.
