Dr Christoph Meinert is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gelomics, a deep tech biotech company revolutionising drug development with AI-powered 3D tissue culture technologies. Since completing his PhD in 2017, Dr Meinert has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, amassed more than 3,200 citations, and holds an h-index of 25. He is the recipient of 18 awards for research and commercial innovation, including the QUT Outstanding PhD Thesis Award (top 5%) and the Siganto Foundation Medal. Since stepping into the CEO role in March 2023, Dr Meinert has secured over $12 million in R&D grants and venture capital funding, launched 17 innovative products, and expanded Gelomics’ footprint into 23 international markets. Under his leadership, Gelomics has built strategic partnerships across the pharmaceutical sector and is recognised for delivering high-margin, scalable solutions that replace animal models with clinically relevant, reproducible, human tissue-based assays. Dr Meinert is a 2024 KPMG Tech Innovator in Australia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His mission is to accelerate the global transition toward human-relevant drug development platforms through integration of smart biomaterials, automated lab devices, and AI.
