Dr. Christina Yen is an infectious diseases specialist and medical director of antimicrobial stewardship at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Having trained and worked across the U.S., she believes that the patient-physician relationship is about learning from each other and she seeks to provide evidence-based care that is grounded in a patient’s values, identities, and context.
Dr. Yen’s research and clinical focuses are hospital-acquired infections, medical ethics, and enhancing the judicious usage of antimicrobials, also known as antimicrobial stewardship. She completed her clinical infectious diseases fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and her internal medicine residency at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Yen received her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and a master’s degree in bioethics from Harvard Medical School.
