Dr. Chengxi Shi is the co-founder and CEO of AstraGenomics, and is in charge of the strategic growth, portfolio and business development of the company. He has more than 15 years’ experience in life science industry and academia. Prior to establishing the company, he has served at multiple roles in management consulting and venture capital investment. Dr. Shi was a venture capital investor at Sinovation Ventures and Long Hill Capital, focusing in the field of biotechnology and life science. He has invested in start-up companies in the sectors including biotech, IVD, digital health and insurance tech, at the stage of angel, venture and early growth. Dr. Shi has served as a senior consultant at IQVIA, to offer strategic and management advices to industrial clients including pharmaceuticals, biotechs, hospital groups and digital health companies. At IQVIA, he was a member of thought-leadership, providing market insights of pharmaceutic industry. Dr. Shi holds a Ph.D. degree from Karolinska Institute in biomedicine with research topic on epigenetic regulation of chromatin structure. He has several scientific publications and was involved in the European framework project.
