Dr. Avery Yan is the Founder and CEO of Riboway Therapeutics. She previously founded Leverna Therapeutics and advanced two programs from innovative discovery, including an ALS program that achieved development candidate (DC) nomination in two years. Before founding Leverna, she served as the Head of Biology at FUSION BioVenture, Fosun Pharma USA and led startup investments and closed 2 business development deals. In 2015 to 2020, she was leading a Cell and Molecular Biology team at Amgen and contributed to 5+ IND filings. Dr. Yan earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Stony Brook University and completed her postdoctoral research at Columbia University. She founded and grew 2 biotech startups and 1 nonprofit organization, raised funds, secured partnerships, and built teams. Published 9+ peer-reviewed articles and authored 3+ patents. Her drug development expertise spans a wide range of modalities, including small and large molecules, ASO, siRNA, CAR-T, TCR-T, and PROTAC programs. She has a track record of leading projects, closing deals, attracting talents and building teams.
