Diagnostics and Personalized Medicine
26A
Diagnostic testing to identify patients who could benefit from targeted therapies is a cornerstone of personalized medicine, but developers face several barriers as they seek to have their products adopted into clinical care. Many oncology patients who are eligible to receive high value personalized treatments do not. This session will describe strategies to address the clinical practice, policy and access challenges related to diagnostic testing and delivery of appropriate targeted therapies that have led to so many patients failing to receive appropriate precision oncology. Panelists will highlight overcoming challenges related to non-streamlined practices, access, data management and interpretation, and coverage and reimbursement.
