Diversity‚ Equity and Inclusion
31C
Health Equity aims to address injustice, overcome barriers, and eliminate preventable disparities that ensure everyone can access good health. Across disease areas and geographic regions, patient organizations are often relied upon to communicate with patients, including reaching diverse and traditionally underserved patient communities. DKI Health initiated a first-of-its-kind survey focused on Health Equity among US-based patient organizations to gain insights into perceptions, successes, lessons, and best practices. During this panel, audience members will learn about the impactful work of patient- and community-led efforts while highlighting the need for continued investment in reducing health disparities. Discussion will also feature successful partnerships with industry leaders and provide recommendations for further actions that increase impact. We hope to empower patient organizations on their journey to advance health equity while demonstrating powerful lessons for all stakeholders to apply when attempting to ensure equity across all patient communities.
