Gene delivery vectors play a pivotal role in the realms of cell and gene therapy, facilitating the efficient delivery of genetic payloads to the cells, often heralding life-changing treatments for patients. Advancements are made in all areas of gene delivery, but will one technology excel over the others, or do we need to fill our toolbox with a spectrum of delivery vehicles? To answer this, we must understand the constraints and possibilities inherent in these diverse delivery approaches. This panel discussion convenes renowned experts representing the three distinct paradigms—next-generation AAVs, alternative viral vectors, and synthetic nanoparticles—to engage in a comprehensive dialogue on this very matter.
