Breakout Session
Widening the Bioeconomy
29C
Governments and companies are increasingly looking to biotech to maintain resilient supply chains while also meeting emissions reductions targets. While bio-manufacturing has always been attractive in this regard, it hasn’t always been economical. Today, however, new approaches to R&D and advancements in AI are combining to create more practical opportunities to biologically produce more products, often resulting in less emissions and less land and water use.
This session will highlight case studies that illustrate new approaches, such as bioproduction of natural products or replacement of petrochemical inputs, and will also surface best practices for using novel, lower-cost, more sustainable fermentation feedstocks, such as waste, organic byproducts, or co-products from other industrial processes, in your business.
