Advancing Innovation: Best Practices for University-Industry Collaboration

June 05, 2024
Breakout Session
Translational Research
31AB
Research partnerships between universities and companies can be fruitful and mutually beneficial, or frustrating and unproductive. The best collaborations have strong communication and transparency, alignment on goals and vision, and shared understanding of working styles and constraints. Using best practices at each stage, from initial contact, through signing an agreement, conducting research, and reporting results, to potentially licensing resulting IP, increases the value of the collaboration and reduces barriers for everyone involved. Join our session to learn why both universities and companies value these collaborations and get tips and tricks for developing successful partnerships.
