The Foundation for the NIH (FNIH) creates and leads alliances and public-private partnerships that advance breakthrough biomedical discoveries and improve the quality of people’s lives. Building on a more than 25-year track record of success, FNIH partners to solve some of the world’s most complex health challenges, including in the area of women’s health research. The FNIH has been developing a partnership portfolio to understand and address gap areas in women’s health research. Our approach is to address diseases that differently, disproportionately, or specifically impact women. We have held working group sessions with key thought leaders and people with lived experiences to develop a better understanding of unmet needs. This panel will provide an overview of active and developing public-private partnerships in women’s health, including areas such as preeclampsia, osteoporosis, maternal sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis, and breast cancer. In addition, the panel will discuss key next steps to taking action for women’s health research in the areas of endometriosis, heart disease, adverse menopause symptoms, and more.
