Biotech startups emerging from universities are at the forefront of innovation, pushing the boundaries of science and medicine. However, translating groundbreaking research into viable commercial products requires significant financial investment and strategic support. For early-stage biotech companies, securing the right type of funding is extremely challenging. In this dynamic and interactive panel, experts from university technology transfer offices will share their experiences, strategies, and insights on funding university-based early-stage biotech companies. The discussion will cover various funding pathways, including venture capital, angel investors, and corporate partnerships as well as dive into the critical role universities play in supporting spin-outs, from providing seed funding and incubator space to leveraging intellectual property and fostering industry partnerships.
