In 2022, Congress tasked the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology with assessing how the United States can maintain its global lead in biotech and safeguard our collective security. In April 2025, the Commission released its final report—encompassing 49 recommendations backed by at least $15 billion in proposed investments over five years. This session will explore why these findings matter for national security, how they can strengthen the U.S. biotech ecosystem, and the vital role of industry in turning recommendations into reality.
