The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) is a premier osteopathic medical school based in the Appalachian region with an expanding research portfolio and an interest in collaboration.
WVSOM is an innovative, affordable, and attractive solution to the challenge of where to flourish in today’s research environment.
West Virginia's largest medical school, with approximately 800 student physicians, WVSOM is engaged in biomedical, clinical, and translational research, community-based participatory research, and public health research.
With $35 million in federal and state appropriations, WVSOM is in a construction cycle to more than double the size of its research facility. The expansion will provide laboratory, support, and office space for 20 lab teams, including a forensic pathology suite and autopsy capability.
The expansion allows for public/private research partnerships and creates space to lease custom-built laboratories.
