Vexev is a MedTech company that has developed an AI-powered autonomous ultrasound platform, the VxWave, that allows non-specialists to perform vascular ultrasound scans on the upper limb. The VxWave has just completed clinical trials with US Renal Care, the third largest dialysis provider in the US, demonstrating in-centre vascular scans performed by existing non-specialised US Renal Care dialysis staff, with an over 96% success rate across over 110 patient scans.
This successful result proves the feasibility of shifting vascular imaging into dialysis clinics and nephrology clinics, where end-stage kidney disease patients who require dialysis frequent 3x per week, to fundamentally shift poor outcomes relating to excessive time spent of catheters and preventing vascular access failures, universally for all >550,000 patients on dialysis in the US.
