The BIO International Convention is the world’s largest and most prestigious biotechnology event, drawing industry leaders from more than 74 countries. More than one-third of attendees arrive from outside of the U.S. ready to share their extensive knowledge and establish vital relationships.
BIO has hosted Heads of State, Deputy Prime Ministers, Federal Ministers, Ambassadors, as well as heads of regulatory agencies, patenting offices, and national reimbursement authorities in all of its previous conventions. Our esteemed government participants receive special opportunities to meet and interact with CEOs and other senior executives attending the Convention.
We encourage international attendees to plan early! If you need a visa application, we encourage you to start the process at least 3 months out. International flights should be booked at least 3 months in advance.
Most international attendees visit as part of an international delegation; an official group of ten or more attendees from a country other than the U.S., organized on a national level. The top 10 largest international delegations at BIO 2017 were: Canada, South Korea, United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, China, France, Australia, Brazil, and Taiwan.
For more information on international attendees or to identify an international delegation organizer, please visit the international delegations information section, or email email@example.com. Many international attendees and international delegations participate in a pavilion in the BIO Exhibition. See the list of regional pavilions.
