Neuroinflammation – The Next Frontier in Alzheimer’s and Other Neurodegenerative Diseases
June 23, 2026
Type: Breakout Session
Focus Area:
Brain Health
For years, therapeutic development for Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases has focused on the pathologies within the brain such as, in the case of Alzheimer’s, amyloid plaques and tau tangles. While there is a neurobiological basis for the progression of these diseases, research clearly indicates that underlying neuroinflammation is critically important, and companies are looking to apply that knowledge to new therapeutics. In this session, biotech and pharma leaders in neuroinflammatory approaches to neurodegeneration will discuss why neuroinflammation has emerged as a powerful approach to neurodegeneration, the evolving landscape for therapeutic development and challenges, the state of clinical development, and opportunities facing the field.
