Hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the event drew 15,322 industry leaders from 49 states and 65 countries.

Convention attendees filled the Vista Ballroom today to hear G. Steven Burrill release his 24th annual report on the state of the biotech industry. "Biotech 2010--Life Sciences: Adapting for Success" highlighted the critical developments in 2009 across all biotech sectors, both in the US and globally.
Burrill opened the session by emphasizing to attendees that it's a "fabulous time to be alive in our industry." He pointed out that the biotechnology industry is working toward critical answers to many of the world's most pressing problems, including climate change, healthcare, food security and production.
